Job Overview:
We are seeking an Interior Designer with a strong background in furniture and materials to support our sourcing and procurement efforts with a design-informed approach. This role is ideal for someone who understands how to evaluate quality, durability, and design intent—particularly within U.S.-based interior design projects.
While direct procurement experience is a plus, it is not required. We’re prepared to teach you procurement tools and workflows. What’s essential is your ability to guide our team on what to look for when sourcing FF&E—whether that’s fabric abrasion ratings, wood finishes, or how a piece will function in a space. A working knowledge of U.S. industry standards and product compliance is a must.
This is a cross-functional, collaborative role that sits at the intersection of design vision, sourcing strategy, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Design-Led Procurement Guidance
Serve as the in-house expert on materiality, finish selection, and product specifications.
Guide procurement and development teams on design standards, material performance, and critical factors to consider when sourcing FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment).
Help establish quality benchmarks and evaluation criteria for furniture, textiles, and interior products.
Vendor & Product Sourcing
Collaborate with procurement and design teams to identify vendors and materials that align with project goals and design intent.
Participate in the sourcing process by reviewing samples, assessing materials, and ensuring selections meet durability and aesthetic standards.
Build and maintain relationships with trusted vendors, artisans, and manufacturers that reflect the company’s quality and style.
Specification & Documentation
Support the creation of detailed FF&E specification sheets, finish schedules, and material boards.
Translate design vision into sourcing guidelines and actionable product selections.
Assist in procuring samples, coordinating testing, and reviewing vendor submissions for approval.
Cross-Team Collaboration
Work closely with developers, designers, and logistics teams to ensure sourcing decisions support project timelines and budgets.
Address material constraints or substitutions creatively, maintaining design integrity.
Provide strategic input on vendor capabilities and feasibility during early project stages.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Degree in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Experience with U.S.-based interior design or FF&E projects is required.
Familiarity with sourcing, vendor coordination, or procurement workflows is a plus but not required.
Skills & Expertise
Strong understanding of U.S. industry standards for furniture, materials, and finishes (e.g., commercial durability ratings, safety regulations, ADA compliance).
Ability to assess product quality, material performance, and compliance with U.S. market expectations.
Proficient in interpreting design intent and aligning it with sourcing decisions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
What We’re Looking For
A design-first professional who brings deep product and materials knowledge to procurement decisions.
Someone passionate about helping teams make smarter sourcing choices based on real-world product insight.
A proactive, collaborative individual who thrives at the intersection of creativity, strategy, and execution.
Growth Opportunities
This role has potential to expand into:
Furniture Design & Manufacturing: Collaborating on the development of Bond Street’s own furniture line, with an emphasis on materials selection, finishes, and production processes.
Product Development: Working with manufacturers to bring new furniture designs to life that meet US quality, durability, and safety standards.
Expanded Procurement Leadership: Leading larger procurement and product development teams as the company scales.
Note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview. Applications will be accepted until the role is filled.
