Departmental Objective:

The Housing department ensures that student-housing facilities are well maintained, clean and safe for the students of CNU.

Purpose of the Position:

This position will ensure the cleanliness of assigned areas by performing various housekeeping tasks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position:
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and cleaning supplies
  • Skilled in the use of housekeeping equipment such as vacuum cleaner, buffers, or scrubbing machine
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to maintain positive relations with faculty, staff and students
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma
Experience :
  • Experience in cleaning methods and cleaning supplies
Additional Consideration(s):

Experience:

  • Prior hotel, higher education or similar housekeeping experience
  • Experience using housekeeping equipment such as vacuum cleaner, buffers or scrubbing machine

  • This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period
